Atlantic City celebrates grand reopening of renovated Dolphins Field
The City of Atlantic City officially celebrated the grand reopening of the newly renovated Dolphins Field Monday evening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the $1.33 Million transformation of the popular community sports facility. Mayor Marty Small, Sr. was joined by City officials, project contractors, Atlantic City Dolphins representatives, along with Dolphins players, cheerleaders and coaches from the present and past for the celebration, bringing together the people who have helped make Dolphins Field an important part of Atlantic City’s youth sports community.
Funded through New Jersey’s Green Acres Program, the renovation project has delivered significant improvements to the facility, including a new gray artificial turf playing surface, new fencing, upgraded lighting, new goal posts, new storage sheds, landscaping enhancements and ADA accessibility improvements, including new sidewalks. A new clubhouse will be constructed next year. The newly renovated field will host its first home game this Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, giving the Atlantic City Dolphins an opportunity to officially take the new playing surface for a game.
“Dolphins Field has been a longtime home of our young athletes, and this renovation is about honoring that history while giving our present youth a facility they can be proud of,” said Mayor Small. “We spare no expense when it comes to our youth, and they deserve this world-class field.”

Dolphins Field has long served as the home of the Atlantic City Dolphins, a respected community organization that has positively impacted countless young athletes throughout the city. The facility’s previous artificial playing surface was installed in 2010 and, after years of heavy use, was due for replacement. Previous investments in the field, including a generous contribution from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City that helped provide the facility’s scoreboard, remain in place.
Maruti Construction served as the site contractor, while Keystone Sports Construction oversaw installation of the new turf. Environmental Resolutions, Inc. served as the project’s design engineer under the guidance of the City of Atlantic City Engineering Office.
